Christian Lippert is a 15 years old huge Slash fan who
lives in Berlin, Germany. It all started when Christian was 6-7 years old
when Christian's mother used to
listen to Guns N' Roses all day long. Christian quickly
became a big GN'R fan too, he even has some video tapes where you can see
him singing along with Axl
and with the excellent Appetite for Destruction LP!
It wasn't until 5 years ago that Christian started playing
(acoustic) guitar while he was listened to Die Ärzte. When he moved
to electric guitar Christian was
already into 70's Rock a la Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and
Led Zeppelin. While improving his guitar playing he found "Appetite For
Destruction" on his CD
collection: when he played that album and heard this Slash
trademark bluesy rock sound he was just like "Wow"! Needless to say, Christian
is a Guns N' Roses
fan again and a Slash's Snakepit fan too.
Christian's other favorite guitar players other than Slash
are Jimmy Page, Paul Gilbert (Christian likes Paul's crazy way of playing
guitar unlike other shred guys),
Izzy, Robben Ford, Carlos Santana, Eric Johnson, Buckethead
(the new lead-guitar-player of Guns 'n Roses) and Joe Perry for sure.
Christian's gear is based in a 93' vintage sunburst Gibson
Les Paul Standard electric guitar, a Fender HotRod Deluxe Tube amplifier
and some effects like a
Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal, Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble and
a Boss DS-1. Christian plays with a Slash's Snakepit pick (sent him by
Slash!) and a set of 10'
GHS Guitar Boomer-strings (about a year ago Christian
tried 11' gauge strings just like Slash uses but in his opinion they were
too heavy for bendings).
There are some some other effects and pedals used by Christian
which you can see at Christian's Sound website. On his website you can

some of his own recordings like the following improvisations

Christian already played in many bands: a 70's Rock band
(Label "Stone Records"), a jazz band ("a tricky contrast to my way of playing")
and some sutdio-
and live-acts in his area.
Currently Christian plays in two bands, a school band
("it's a good band, but there isn't much "drive" on stage, I think") and
a popular Hard Rock band called
"Theatre of
Reality".
Since a year Christian also teach classical-guitar to
some students to make some money for his music.
